Louise Koslofsky, 95, Prairie Farm, Wis., formerly of Fargo, N.D., died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Pioneer Nursing Home, Prairie Farm.


She was born Nov. 1, 1912, at Enderlin, N.D., the daughter of Wilhelm and Wilhelmina (Fritz) Utke. On Oct. 11, 1936, she married Henry Koslofsky at Pontiac Township Lutheran Church, Cass County, N.D.

Louise and her husband farmed until 1952 near Fingal, N.D. They then moved to Fargo and worked there until 1976, when they returned to Fingal. Louise moved to Barron County, Wis., in 1996.

She was active in Daughters of Dakota Pioneers, served on the Board of Directors for the Barnes County North Dakota AARP and was President for the Nome Get Together Club. Her memberships included the Eagles Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America, The Democratic Women, PTA and Women Of The Church.

Louise loved music, knitting and enjoyed traveling. She loved her church people and family and was a very social person. Louise attended First Lutheran Church, Barron.

Surviving are a son, Bill of Chetek; a daughter, Anne (Jeff) King of Hot Springs Village, Ariz.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Utke of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and a sister, Myrtle Koslofsky of Wheatland, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and three sisters.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, from Rausch and Steel Funeral Chapel, Barron, Rev. Russell Melby officiating. Visitation was held an hour prior to services at the funeral home Monday.

Burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Fingal, at a later date. A memorial service will also be held in North Dakota at a later date.
